Candy Gram Sale
the problem:
We are trying to solve worldwide poverty. In order to do this we chose to donate to Heifer International, an organization that helps to alleviate poverty for specific families by donating a farm animal to them to give them a source of income and food.

This is important to me because I chose to address poverty as a main concern for my club; this holiday season, it was especially rewarding to know that instead of spending money on material goods, my club and I were able to help people donate money to a more worthy cause and help those that truly need it.
the plan of action:
Our plan of action was to make and sell candygrams at Squalicum High School in order to raise money to donate to Heifer International. We made the candygrams out of candycanes and special message snowflakes that students purchased during school lunches and sold 70 candygrams for a dollar each.
how you can get involved:
Others can help by implementing this plan at their own schools. It was a fast, easy way to raise money for a great cause and drew in volunteers because it was a fun, creative project that allowed people to express themselves artistically and send special messages to people they care about.
