The Cards for the Church project is going to donate profit of my hand-made cards to Real Life Ministries, my church in Northern Idaho. RLM will disburse it to many places, such as the businesses in Africa which are providing outstanding jobs and medical care for those who would otherwise not have anything. Three couples inspired me. Couple #1 felt called to go to Africa and start a coffee bean business that was voted number two in the world two years in a row. They provide jobs for the Ethiopians, paying US minimum wage. They sell their coffee world-wide and the money goes back into their company hiring more employees and donating to the nearby hospital, which was started by Couple #2. These folks are retired surgeons from the US. They dedicated their time, money, resources and effort to the African people, giving them free medical care. The hospital began to have electrical problems and plumbing problems. They lost access to their water, they did not have lighting, nor did they have indoor plumbing. When they were back in the US at my church speaking, Couple #3 went to the presentation and was inspired to go to Africa and help with these problems. He was a retired electrician and had plumbing experience. They took generators, bought by our church and helped fix all their problems and now they are up and running again. Money is what sends these folks to Africa and help the African people. I feel called by God to help out in some way, but since I am a college student, its not as easy as it sounds. I have found a way to help that will allow me to get an education. I have been making beautiful handmade greeting cards that I plan to sell at my church and other places, all profit less expense will go towards these great happenings.
