Jersey City, NJ, 07305See map: Google MapsWhy is it important to you?: C.A.R.E.S. partnered with the Concerned Citizens Coalition of Jersey City, New Jersey to participate in and raise awareness and funds for a anti-violence campaign in Jersey City. Our group posted fliers, hung posters, wrote poems, raps, and songs on peace and nonviolence. We concluded our campaign with a "dress down" day to raise funds. We raised $792.00 towards the campaign (which was a citywide event). In years past, we have raised thousands of dollars for leukemia patients and outfitted a Kenyan orphanage with school supplies and uniforms for students to attend school. Our focus continues to be character education benefiting local and global causes in which our students and associates can contribute to in meaningful ways. How Can Others Help?: Join a group or contact agencies in your neighborhood that promote awareness and support for issues of vital importance to you or your community. Start with a school guidance counselor, religious leader, or law enforcement agency. Share your ideas with others and form a concerned citizens coalition to speak out and help improve the lives of the people who are affected by issues that are important to you and them.
