The Problem

Our goal is to enable poor individuals to make better decisions so that they can lift themselves out of poverty. We believe that every family wants a sustainable future for their household, but that poor families face higher costs when making related choices. Decisions like sending children to school, going to the doctor, eating nutritiously, or using sustainable farming methods entail greater risks for extremely poor households. Meanwhile, the internet has made these households more directly accessible to people who want to help! Our website serves as a platform to empower families to make better choices and users to take action.

Plan of Action

The website we have built connects users with beneficiaries around the world and enables them to make a direct donation, called a transfer. Transfers are a form of money that is conditional upon improvement. This results-based approach empowers beneficiaries to take steps that will help them lift themselves out of poverty, and ensures that users’ money will spur the change they want to see in the world. We currently offer transfers in a range of areas (education, nutrition, health, etc.) and a range of regions (Africa, Asia, the Caribbean) and hope to continue expanding! We hope that users can find transfers for whatever, and wherever they’re passionate about.
