The Problem
As a Celtic Praise Troupe Member (a Christian Irish Dance Troupe)I try to communicate several things: first, I want to show my love of our nation, as a grandaughter of Irish Immigrants coming to America I want to share the pride of our great nation, secondly, I want be a "Good Servant Leader" to our community, and thirdly, I want to share good Christian values. The girls in the troupe are highly skilled Irish dancers who are Christian girls ranging in age from 15-29. The mission of the dance troupe is to share our love of God, and the community through the art of dance. All of the music and dances are based on spiritual tenants. Through spiritual communication, we speak to the community about love, faith, purity, acceptance and compassion. We accomplish weekly and/or monthly performances at churches, schools, nursing homes, hospitals, business and community fellowships, festivals, conferences, socials, parades, etc. None of the dancers receive pay, all donate their time. My personal goals are to be an inspiration and change others lives.
Plan of Action
As troupe members we spend approximately 8-10 hours every Saturday practicing dance and learning new choreography. As most of the troupe members are entering college,we want to continue to dance and increase the venues that will inspire and entertain more people our own age.I would like to see the troupe continue as we begin to graduate from college and venture out into our own careers and make even larger impacts on our communities. I personally want to be a Journalist. I believe that the press is required to tell the stories, and not make the news into stories that represent their personal agenda. I believe that the biggest impact I can have on society is through Journalism.
