The Problem

I am trying to help break the cycle of poverty in a poor village, El Pedregal in the Dominican Republic. I am trying to give children the chance to go to school so they can have an opportunity to be successful. Education is what these children need to break the cycle of poverty and the village lifestyle.

Plan of Action

My plan is to raise money to pay the tuition for children to go to school in the Dominican Republic. I am working with a mentor, my priest, in order to collect funds. I have discussed a plan with the Principal of this school in El Pedregal to begin five children in school in September. They will join the one student who has already begun. I plan to continue fundraising and collecting donations in order to send more children to school.
