The Problem
The problem here is, many children think that subjects like art is not as important as courses like math, english and science. My main priority is to help and provide children with more understanding of why arts in education is important and why we should use it as our advantage today. My mission is to help improve children's personality, motivation, enthusiasm and concentration through the play of art. I want to lesson children who are not self-motivated and inspire them to be more active.
Plan of Action
What I did was, make sure that I provide quality arts education for each child every day. I want all of them to get a clear understanding of what “arts education” is by providing a handful of information and resources. In addition to that, I want my students to feel excited about this learning process, so the plan was to add a little fun to keep these children motivated with games and extracurricular activities related to the art field for them to participate in. First of all, I gathered a significant amount of materials for this project, which were basic stuffs like, colored pencils, markers, construction papers, art books, sketch books and so forth for the children to use during the stage of drawing, painting, sketching and coloring. Then, I held an open discussion, where all of us shared our opinions and ideas about 1) what arts education is? 2) Why is art in education important to us today? 3) How will arts education shape my life differently? This has showed a great impact and dramatic change to these children, to strengthen their view of existing arts education in school while being more active in the art aspect. Furthermore, I want my students to leave with confidence and a smile on knowing that they can face any challenges and difficulties ahead of them today and become outstanding leaders of tomorrow.
