Changing Our Future
the problem:
I'm trying to get into college and asertain a teaching degree. I want to help shape our future through education. Over the past few decades schools have become all about testing and not about teaching anything. I want to change that. I'm not rich and I don't have the means to do very much but I want to help as much as I can. I live in Vernon, a small town in the middle of Florisa's panhandle. I moved up here when I was younger and have tried my best up until now. I want to teach elementary students and help them grow into the best possible people.

5why it's important:
When I was younger, I was in a strange family. My mom was married to this man. He did drugs and treated me horribly. My sanctuary was school. My teachers helped keep me on the right path and I want the chance to do that for as many others as I can.
the plan of action:
Right now, I help my peers as best I can. I help tutor and am there to listen when they need help. I hope to continue that in my own classroom. My dream is to take the institution out of school. I know that standardized test are important, but shouldn't we be teaching children how to learn instead of how to take tests. Everyone is so afraid of the generation to come and I can see why. I'm going to teach children. I want to take out the desks and put down bean bags. I want to teach children how to learn. I want to help them. I want to be what a teacher should be and then I want to fight to get other teachers like me. I'm going to turn school into what it's supposed to be. I'm going to stop worrying so much about what isn't important and worry about what needs to be done to help the future generation become the BEST generation.
how you can get involved:
Others can help by continuing where I can't. I'm only human and I can't make a change EVERYWHERE, but with the help of others, my cause can change the world.
