The Problem

We tried to capitalize on Earth Day to teach students all at CHHS about climate change and what they can do to make a difference.

Plan of Action

During the week, we did the following: -Rewarded people for recycling with brownies -Painted recycling bins to be placed throughout the school -Dressed up as the BP Oil Spill on April 20th (one year anniversary to bring the dependency of oil back into the spotlight) -Had a massive garden celebration in which we harvested 13 bags of lettuce alone and donated it to the local food kitchen. -Hosted a Power Down day in which 27 teachers turned off all or most of their lights for the entire day.
