The Problem

There is an alarming rate of children dying of hunger and poverty. Every year 15 million children die of hunger(thinkquest). Cartagena, Colombia there are children living in complete desolation with nothing to eat. I want to help feed these children so they will have the strenght to go on living. Eventually, I want to help strenghten their school system so that they can have a chance for a future.

Plan of Action

My sister, her husband and I decided to make a non-profit organization called "Children of Cartagena" which works along with the Food Bank of Cartagena. We have filed all the paperwork and the priest recommended we work with some nuns that are greatly immersed in helping the children. All of the guests that attended the wedding as well as other friends and family have donated money to go towards feeding the children. I am also working with my church to help raise awareness and organize fundraisers. Currently, I have organized a t-shirt design contest and the winning design will be made into a shirt to sell. We also have other fundraising ideas in work.
