The Problem

Many families in our local communities are so poor that their children have to wake up on Christmas morning without any presents under their trees. I want to end this, so that all children can enjoy the innocence and purity of childhood.

Plan of Action

Every Christmas, for about the past eight years, my brothers and I have given up a large chunk of our Christmas money from our parents to put toward adopting a family. Now that I'm the only kid still at home, I find the family, do the shopping and use my own Christmas money to buy the gifts. This has made a huge impact not only on the families that I have supported, but on my own character, as well. I have learned that you can obtain so much more from giving to others than from receiving. When I see the tears trickling down a mother's face or hear her say there may not have been a Christmas in my house if it were not for you, I know my work is done. This is when I know that my actions, though locally, are still making a big impact.
