The Problem

We are trying to prevent dogs and cats from becoming homeless by providing temporary pet food assistance to pet owners struggling to afford to buy food for their pets. We serve the pets of low income and other struggling pet owners to try to help them keep their pets instead of surrendering them to shelters or turning them loose because they are unable to afford pet food.

Plan of Action

To run a pet food pantry at least once a month in order to distribute pet food to needy pet owners. We started the Cincinnati Pet Food Pantry in March 2010. Since then, we have distributed pet food on 5 occasions and have given out food to approximately 600 pet owners. We have heard from pet owners that our program is a life saver and that it is really making a difference in their lives.
