The Problem
The problems are hunger and poverty but the two regions that I help the most are China and South America. These areas are two of the poorest places in the world. We all here about Beijing in the news being a very rich place but we never here about all of the tiny villages of 15-20 people who are starving and have no money. Similarly, with South America everybody knows about the rainforests being cut down but that completely overshadows all of the poverty there in very small farming villages. I am trying to help gain awareness to these causes while raising money to help them.
Plan of Action
When I was 5, I heard my pastor in church talking about all of the poor kids in Haiti. when I heard about how incredibly different their lives were from ours (in a bad way), I decided to help by doing lemonade stands and bake sales to raise money for them. I kept doing this until I was ten but then I thought to myself, "Why only do this two weekends a year when I can do it all year?" So that's what started Clean Hands Bakery. A lot of stuff has happened since then though such as over the summer vacation I have started selling my products at a farmer's market every week and I've reached many of my goals. One of those that I completed was to raise $5,000. Another was getting 1000 customers. With all of these achievements I have helped hundreds to thousands of people with my animals and have learned leadership, responsibility, and many other character traits.
