"College Boulevard" Workshops at Local Peninsula High Schools

the problem:

Most of the kids in my community feel they cannot afford college, so they don;t put any effort to try to go. I feel the youth in hampton roads limit themselves.

why it's important:

I feel we should take advantage of the "first generation" scholarships available. I believe they do not know how many oppportunities are out there if they spend a little time looking for them. Computers with internet may not always be available to them, and they may not know where to look even if they have the access. I want to help more high school graduates move on to college and pursue an education.

the plan of action:

Put together packets with information on Scholarships, internships, and grants. Conduct monthly monthly workshops at local High Schools. One hour sessions that provide latest information, financial aids options, websites to research, apply for waivers, SAT prep, etc.
