Colorado Convention of Young Peoples in Alcoholics Anonymous (CCYPAA) 2008 Haunted House

the problem:

CCYPAA in 2008 is going to be in Grand Junction and they needed help raising the funds needed to make this convention a success. I live in Fort Collins Colorado and we have a small community of young people here that are dedicated to our sobriety, and part of this is helping out fellow alcoholics and being of service. This year the CCYPAA committie decided to have a fund raiser at the York Street AA Club in Denver Colorado. Since we recieved a lot of help from the Denver and Boulder AA groups when we hosted CCYPAA in 2005, we decided to pitch in. In about 5 weeks me and 6 of my friends prepaired a room in the basement of the York Street Club and scared the wits out of about 250 to 300 people raising over $2,000 for the CCYPAA in June 2008 along with groups from Colorado Springs and Denver. After this haunted house there was a dance put on by the Denver groups and a speaker meeting where a member told what happened to him as a result of his drinking, how he got to a better way of life, and what his life is like today as a result of practicing the principals of Alcoholics Anonymous.
