On top of the education we have been able to provide to our student body, we are also very committed to developing leaders. Our club is run in a minimally hierarchical structure, with four officers so that we learn to work together and communicate effectively. The four officers often assign responsibilities to club members, who can then experience the planning, coordinating, and networking that go into non-profit work, with out as much overwhelming responsibility. Our club is unique in that we do not have an adult adviser. Everything we do is put on by students, and geared directly towards students so that students get the most out of it. Our current goals include petitioning the school board to put fair trade sports balls in all of the elementary schools, continuing to raise awareness in our young community through free events including speakers, movie nights, creating an intramural league at our highschool that will use fair trade products, and connecting with students to share vision of equality with.
