Communtiy Chili Feed

My project was a project to help inform young kids about the benefits of community services through my own efforts of community service. I had the opportunity to volunteer at Valley House Homeless Shelter of the magic Valley for a week in June from the 21st to the 25th and 29th. After my volunteer efforts at Valley House i was able to put on an assembly with the 4th and 5th graders at Filer Intermediate School where the executive director of Valley House, Sharon Breshears, came in to talk to them about Valley House. I informed these kids about Kiwanis Kids (K-Kids) and had them sign-up to be in the club, since the club wasn't very successful. I had 41 kids sign up to be in the club. I asked these kids if they wanted to help serve at my chili feed i held on November 18, 2010 from 6:00-8:00pm. They were able to have there own experience in community service. I had six kids show up. The money I raised was donated to the Valley House Homeless Shelter.
