The Problem

At Winter Springs High School in Winter Springs, Florida, there is a Guitar Program. I was looking for an Eagle Project for Boy Scouts, and my Chorus Teacher, who is the Guitar Teacher as well, at my school said she needed a way to store Guitars. I decided to build Guitar Cabinets and repaint some older ones that lacked the space necessary. If the class had not gotten the cabinets, the school could not have stored all the students guitars, and students would have to carry their guitars everywhere around the school, every day. That would have caused many unhappy students and would lead to the class being discontinued due to lack of interest.

Plan of Action

The authorization process was tedious as I had to get it approved by the School, and the Boy Scout Council before i could complete my project. I had to write out all instructions for building the cabinets, how much it would cost, and how I would procure the funds. To raise money, I held a fund raising concert at a local church. The event was named Craigstock, and continues to happen occasionally, but instead of raising funds for my project, the concert raises funds for a selected organization and donates all proceeds. Craigstock is an additional project that spawned from my original project.
