The Problem

A crisis can be defined as a person’s reaction to an event, situation, or stressor. Crises can differ from person to person and can range from the end of a relationship to a personal loss to suicidal ideations. Many people need an outlet to help guide them through the struggles and demands of life.

Plan of Action

CRISISline is a confidential 24-hour, 7-day a week telephone service offering a non-judgmental sounding board for people to talk about life's struggles. Trained phone workers are available to listen and to provide community resources and crisis intervention. CRISISline answers more than 14,500 calls annually from people struggling with the choices of life. We offer active listening, resource referral, and crisis intervention/suicide prevention.
