The Problem

A smile on the faces of our kids is the sign of hope, it is the sign that a new and better day has come... and that is what our volunteers do when they cross borders with Children Beyond Our Borders (CBOB). "Crossings Borders" is the annual service trip of CBOB. Each year, volunteers embark on a journey that will change their lives forever. They travel to one of our three destinations in Colombia to work with internally displaced and at risk youth. Volunteers provide the youth with interactive and intensive educational workshops based on holistic human values. During their free time volunteers explore and become immersed in the beauty of Colombia. They experience, the rich culture, delicious food, and the hospitality of the locals. Most importantly, volunteers experience the love and kindness of the brilliant children they work with. Volunteers return with more knowledge and first hand experience of the issues faced by children in developing countries, as well as with the knowledge that distance and language are no barriers to love, understanding, and friendship. If you are a caring and understanding individual, and have a passion for helping children, we invite you to join us and help change a child’s life!
