Crossing Borders Spring Break & Summer Trips with Children Beyond Our Borders

Children Beyond Our Borders is a non-profit organization based in Gainesville and we work to empower children in Latin America through education. One of the ways we empower children is through our Crossing Borders service trips. On these trips, volunteers travel to Colombia to work directly with children affected by armed conflict and social injustice. Our volunteers lead workshops that go beyond traditional education and focus on areas like self-esteem and civic engagement. We try to give the children and youth we work with skills to improve their own lives, and their communities. The children aren't the only ones learning though; it is also an amazing learning experience for our volunteers. During their free time volunteers explore and become immersed in the beauty of Colombia learning about the culture, but they also learn a lot about themselves. These trips are life changing experience and there are still spots left! Remember A smile on the faces of our kids is the sign of hope, it is the sign that a new and better day has come.
