The Problem

In our small community there are so many families out of work, or just very old and on a fixed income. Our local food pantry serves 90 families at the present time. My Girl Scout Troop, a group of very energetic girls want to plant a community garden for the food pantry. The products will be given to families each month with their other foods. The girls have planted seeds so far but need meney to finish the project and maintain it.

Plan of Action

They have a place to put their garden. It will be a raised garden. they have planted seeds to start itin large egg crates. They are going good. they will plant tomotoes, peppers, lettuce, squash and pumpkins this year. They hope to expand it next year. They are sure that with 3 other troops of girls in our town that there will be plenty of help to work on this. The garden is near where most of the girls live so it is easy to go there to work on it.
