The Problem

I've got blank stares from people when I speak of the Darfur genocide. Myself and a few others would like to host an Awareness benefit for the cause in Dallas, Pennsylvania. We have bands who have volunteered to play, and a dedicated group of young adults who are willing to put the whole thing together. Donations will be collected with all proceeds going to an organization that will act in a preventative manner. We believe wholeheartedly we can make a difference in our community, and a difference in Darfur as well.

Plan of Action

The following are the steps needed to complete our project: - Find a grant to help make our project a reality - Find a space to rent - Create posters, submit advertisements to papers, radio stations, news stations etc. - Organize all entertainment - Purchase snacks (food/ drink) for all who are coming - Create a script to ensure consistent organization throughout the night. - Get t-shirts, wristbands etc. made. - submit the money raised to an approved organization working to prevent the genocide. - report back to dosomething.org to share our story!
