The school is located 105 kilo meters south of Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The name of the school is Buee Elementary School. The school has 2388 students from 1-6th grade. We focused on students from 1st - 4th grade. The number of kids we supported equals to 1,228. We donated 6144 exercise books (5 for each child) 3684 pencils (3 each) 1228 pencil sharpener (1 each) 2456 pens donated by HIV/AIDS foundation with a "stay safe" logo. The school has 3 large classrooms. Each class accommodates ~ 200 students. Very crowded condition. The school uses two shift system. The morning shift runs from 8:00-11:30 AM (1st - 3rd graders only) The second shift runs from 12:30-4:30PM (4th-6th) No library, no science lab, no computers in the area. The office uses an old manual type writer. The desks and benches in the classroom are very old and most of them are broken. The floor is muddy and the walls are cracked. The chalkboard is so old, kids barely see what is written in it. We are planning to help the school by improving the class room condition and by building a library. We are also planning to donate new desks and benches. In this day and age where globalization is on the rise, these kids are well positioned with a guaranteed poverty in their life. I think we all can do miracles, if we believe.
