The Problem

I wanted my teammates, school, and community to be aware of how eailsy cancer can strike. I wanted people to be aware that any person on any given day could be diagnosed with cancer. I wanted girls espically to understand that by being tested regularly and being aware of the warning signes they could prevent themselves from being a cancer victim. By putting on this event, my schooll created a section on cancer awarness in the health ciruculium.

Plan of Action

I wored with the Side Out Foundation to create an event called Dig Pink. My teammates and I played a match dedicated to breast cancer awareness. We weore pink uniforms and gave away pink roses and bears while guest donated their time and money to the organization. Each player created a poster with their own picture on it surrounded by people they knew who had been impacted by any tupe of cancer. These posters we're breath taking. They showed me and everyone else that cancer is not something that cares who you are, you age, job, race, eating habbits or body type; it just doesn't matter it can effect anyone.
