The Problem

The immediate community that this project will serve is my local high school. Though our school does have funds to aid low-income students, in these harsh economic times the available funds have dried up well before the need was quenched. Some of the school's top students will be unable to take their Advanced Placement examinations without additional financial support. Meanwhile, as registration for next year's classes begin, many students will be restricted by the course fees that accompany certain classes.

Plan of Action

The need in our school is both immense and urgent. The first wave of demand is fast approaching as AP test registration nears. To address this first wave, our organization is collecting donations from local businesses. We do, however, recognize that this form of fund raising is not perpetually sustainable. To compensate, we are in the planning stages of several fundraisers which will take place later this school year and over the summer. These fundraisers will be used to build up the fund for next year.
