The Problem

This is a plea to everyone. We, my mother, brother and I are trying to sponsoring a Campaign to help Disaster Relief Children. As a part of our campaign and in an effort to give back, we are asking that anyone and everyone reach out and help us provide much needed nourishment or just a simple act of kindness by donating a little to help all the children affected by all disasters in our country as well as other countries. Disasters like hurricanes, fires, tornado’s, etc. that destroy lives everyday for instance, all the one that distroyed people this past summer.

Why It's Important

Hurricanes, Fires, Tornado’s are something way bigger than any child can understand and because of this, children need comfort during such a time in their lives.

The Plan Of Action

Joshua and I have been going around our local community requesting items that we can fill our backpacks with or asking for just a simple money donation that we could turn around and purchase on ones behalf.

How Can Others Get Involved?

People can help by donating the following items: Either money or Supplies are needed. The following supplies are what we are asking to be donated: Drawstring Backpacks Bottled Water Ready to Eat Soups like Soup at Hands or Pop Open Top Soups Animal Cracker Boxes Care-Bear Stuff Animals - We are asking for this particular animal because we feel this animal is exactly what we need to communicate our message. Crayons and Coloring Book So, please give, and help support Disaster Relief because it will make you feel good about yourself, just like my Disaster Relief Backpack Buddie Bag’s are going to make a child feel good as well as help start the process of healing and coping with their tragedy. “Backpack Buddie Bag’s” are just a great gift that one can provide from their heart. Receiving a “Backpack Buddie Bags” not only will help channel a child’s distress into a positive memory it will help a child become emotionally healthier. Please, take action and do something for someone during a time of need! Don’t take this simple plea for granted or let something cause you to overlook a simple act of kindness. Because DISASTER can affect all of us. Help us Pay It Forward by CARING... ALL DONATIONS CAN BE MAILED TO DISASTER RELIEF "BACKPACK BUDDIE BAGS" DO SOMETHING PROJECT ATTN: Hayley and Joshua Scoggins ADDRESS IS 681 SUDLOW LAKE ROAD NORTH AUGUSTA, SC 29841 NOTE: A receipt can be mailed back to you for a tax deducation of their donations.

Update: Who knew that a backpack full of items such as crayons, coloring books, snacks, water, and a CareBear could make such a big difference in the lives of children. Well, our local news papers, local schools, our local news station and three local companies absolutely does as they helped Joshua and I collect hundreds of items and money to give out to children as well as award us with an award called "Giving Your Best" through Channel Six news as winners Joshua and I know just how important it is to show we care through our Diseaster Relief Project. Joshua and I also gain recognition through our local news papers whiched caused people to donate items as well as money to help us purchase more items for our Disaster Relief efforts. Joshua and I are also are up for another award called the "Jefferson Davis Award" because of our project. Joshua and I are going to continue our efforts of giving to children that are in need through whatever means possible. We know that our project will only continue to grow because of such great people and companies like the ones that has helped us achieve success with our project. So, a big thanks goes out to Do Something, Aiken Standard-North Augusta Star, Augusta Chronicle-North Augusta Today, Channel Six News and their partners - Georgia Bank and Trust, Solvay Advance Polymers, and Walton Rehabilitation Health System as well as our schools North Augusta Middle and High School.

Please DONATE!!!

A very big THANK YOU goes out to American Greeting Company as they are the first to donate to our project. They donated a very large box of all Care Bear items to our project. They donated Care Bears large and small, Backpacks, PJ's, Socks, Toothbrushes, Coloring Books, Reading Books, Playing Cards, Trading Cards, Note Cards, and Hair Brushes. It is companies like this that helps projects like ours succeed because without their donations we would not be able to reach children during thier trying times.

Again, THANK YOU SO MUCH...
