The Problem

The problem is that foster children are one of the most under-served populations in California. Passed around from family to family, their emotional needs can be suppressed in favor of more pressing physical needs. We would like to nurture these neglected creative spirits and give them the means to tell their own stories.

Plan of Action

We will have a class every Saturday from July 10-August 28 for elementary-middle school age children. Each class will tackle another art medium and the point of every class is to stir a spirit of creativity. Our hope is that the students will then take the things they've learned and use them in their lives. At the end of the series we will have an art show where they can show off their favorite pieces and take pride in the great things they have accomplished.
