Dorchester Youth Council

the problem:

While being apart of the Dorchester Youth Council we have done many service learning projects. We have done trick-or-treat canned food drives, $10,000 dollar mini grants, completed service at elderly homes, shelters for homeless mothers and their children, Don't Spot the Dot litter campaign, National Youth Service Day and various other project we feel would make an impact on our community. Through the Dorchester Youth Council I've became appointed as one of two first youth to be apart of the Mayor's Dorchester Avenue Task Force, which has a 5 million dollar budget to reconstruct Dorchester Avenue. I am also apart of Y-PACT which is a youth prevention group that focuses on educating youth on relationship, drug and sexual education. Spreading the knowledge of education through out Boston's youth.
