The Problem

There is a high economic barrier to the purchase and maintenance of high output solar panel systems, limiting development capacity in rural areas. A solution for this would be to use a tracking rotation system, optimizing the output of each panel by 40% so less panels are necessary. Typical rotators require motors, which are impractical due to high costs and elevated maintenance difficulties. Roseicollis Technologies has developed a novel tracking technology that overcomes these barriers. The SunSaluter is much cheaper, easier to use and simpler to maintain, and therefore is more suitable for solar power projects in developing countries.

Plan of Action

Roseicollis Technologies is a project started in 2006 to take a cheap solar panel rotator technology, The SunSaluter, to developing communities that need to optimize the energy they are collecting. Our mission is to push solar panel technology to the forefront of the effort to electrify the developing world. By ensuring that developing communities are optimizing the potential for the energy they can access, we can distribute more solar panels to more communities for a bigger impact. This is done by partnering with organizations currently distributing solar panels without rotators, and maximizing their potential. We make solar energy affordable.
