The Problem
Following the earthquakes in Western Sumatra, Indonesia on the 30 September and 1October, 2009, Hands On Disaster Response (www.hodr.org) has launched a recovery project in Sungai Geringging, near Padang City.
The initial focus of this project will be to clear debris and rubble from the sites of damaged houses to enable families to begin rebuilding their homes and their lives. The work will be physical, extremely rewarding, and fun! In the coming months, we also expect to engage in shelter activities and support other NGOs with their programs.
We opened on Sunday 25 October, 2009 and plan to work until 24 February, 2010.
Please visit www.hodr.org for more information, or email info@hodr.org.
Why It's Important
The region is still recovering from the earthquake and our organization focuses on helping people in this situation.
The Plan Of Action
In return for work volunteers will be provided with food and board, but you will need to make your own way to the project base. Volunteers are welcome to join us for any length of time. The project will run until February 2010.

This looks like a great project. You should add more pictures to your post! Also, have you thought about applying for a Do Something Grant (if you haven't already)? Here's the link: http://www.dosomething.org/grants. Best of luck!
