The Problem

Our community is known around the world as a top polluter. We are home to several factories, as well as the Y-12 and K-25 plants that helped during WWII. While our community has in place a fair recycling program, it is not doing near enough to change. We are trying to create a more convenient program and show our community that recycling can be easy, convenient, and should become a habit.

Plan of Action

EcoAction started as a student club at Clinton High School in Clinton, Tennessee. We gathered student and teacher support and held our first meeting with more than 20 students attending. By our second meeting, less than 2 weeks later, we had successfully created a recycling program for bottles and cans. Another month later, we took over and reorganized our existing paper recycling program, expanding it to every classroom and office in the school.

Project Updates
