The Problem
It came to my knowledge that there was a small village in a place they call Iquitos Peru. Children love their lives due to the ignorance they had that life has so much more to offer than what they had. I then found out that the people there were infected with bacteria because the only available water they had was the water from the Amazon River. My pastor Jason Norman is the leader of the team; he offered me a spot to go help this group of people in need. We went to the village and lived with the people in poverty for 3 days. During our stay we dug a well full of clean water. As we left we knew we had an impact on these people because they cried as they waved to us goodbye when we took our last trip down the river to leave. Not only did we try to provide these people with a healthier life, but we did solve this and we know that their health is probably increasing due to this. We also went in the schools and taught the children a little English because there was noone there that spoke English. All we could really teach in those few days was the alphabet. You may not believe that we accomplished much, but rememeber it always starts with the baby steps. If we could not teach these kids an entire new language, we planted the seed.
Plan of Action
We flew into Lima the first night. After one night in Lima we went to Iquitos. For maybe a few days we stayed on the YWAM base (if you do not know what that is, it is the youth with a mission, we are not in YWAM but we used their base to help fulfill what we were going to do.)A few days later we took a boat to the small village. For about 3 days we lived in poverty with these people in the village.
