We finally assembled the kits. It was a lot of fun. We met with the senior citizens, and they helped us make their kits. They were so excited and surprised about all of the supplies we had for them. It was a fun day getting to interact with the seniors and learn more about them.

Project Updates
We have continued gathering supplies for the Senior's kits. We also had two more classes with them. One of them was presented by students about how to prepare their houses for emergencies. The other was presented by local firefighters and policemen about planning escape routes and self defense. We are planning on getting together withe the seniors on May 22 to assemble the kits. We have decided to have each senior make their own kit, so they can determine what they need, and so that they can feel involved in this project. We are working hard on the last few steps of the project, so we can get it finished in time. We are sorting items and putting them in ziplock bags to prevent ruin, and we are working on obtaining the last few items we need.
We had our first class with the senior citizens. We taught them what they need to be doing now to prepare for emergencies. We had a great turnout with over 80 seniors in attendance. We have purchased many more supplies for the kits and have started to assemble them into bags so they are easier to distribute to the senior citizens.
We have started purchasing supplies for the kits. We have bought the backpacks, whistles, emergency blankets, and medical supplies. We have also talked to the some teachers in our school who are working to get us lanyards for the whistles. We have established what items we want in the kit, and talked to the Senior citizens about our project. We are working to find dates for the classes, and have started brainstorming ideas for these presentations.
