Encore is a student run/ performed musical revue that is performed as a benefit concert. Students and alumni of the Beaver Dam High school get together in August to put on a concert of songs from Broadway musicals. the concert has been running for 5 years, and has raised over $20,000 for the High school's music and drama programs. As I said this is a student run show. we have no adults helping us whatsoever! Music is arranged and taught by myself. The show director and choreographer oversee dance and stage presence. we have a Producer and PR person that take care of selling tickets, and getting us out into the community to perform at community events. The entire show usually consists of 25+ songs and it's all taught in 2 months (rehearsing 3 days a week). we have had sell out crowds every year, and we hope to continue to do this show for years to come. Our hope is to help soften the blow of state-wide budget cuts, and keep the programs from being cut from the curriculum.
