The Problem
The Palestinian-Israeli conflict seems far to complex- some would even say hopeless, yet it cannot be ignored. Within Broken Borders traveled to the Middle East on a search for hope to create the film "From the Eyes of Hope". We learned that understanding builds hope and peace. Our goal is to bridge gaps between Israelis and Palestinians and Americans through dialogue. The people in the region have a genuine hope and vision for peace. To reach this, they believe that the stereotypes and fear of the opposing side must be broken down. When people see eye to eye with a common hope, they can come together as one. Within Broken Borders created the "From the Eyes of Hope" project in order to educate American youth around the nation and to encourage them to take action. We've already seen progress in the Middle East and here in the United States. The film will be screened at several universities all over the nation.
Plan of Action
We will release the short documentary, "From the Eyes of Hope" October 2010. The trailer is already up and can be viewed at www.fromtheeyesofhope.com. Screenings are already being set up for the fall at different universities in areas including Indiana, Seattle areas, and Denver areas. We have received positive feedback about the film trailer. People already have said they feel compelled to act on the situation.
