the problem:
Over 150 million children in the world (age 5-14) are deprived of education due to poverty, slavery, sexual discrimination, racial discrimination, racism and religious intolerance. The cost of educating each child in the developing world is about $1 per month per child. Several global studies show that educating a girl to at least a fifth grade education level, is the most significant factor in impoverished societies such as Afghanistan and Pakistan.

50why it's important:
The organization will spread awareness to provide assistance for the development of schools in third-world middle eastern countries. We believe that the right way to combat terrorism is not by military tactics, but through education!
the plan of action:
We have an event planner helping us free of charge. We've already found a studio named Melrose Lightspace to have the fashion show. We have also found a designer by the name of Tebo Dambe to allow us to showcase her clothing line "Tebo Couture" in the show. Additionally We have found some models that would love to do the event.

We'd like to thank everyone who helped make Fashion Saved My Heart 2009 a great success!
