We've surpassed our goal of collecting 500 food items. Everyone has been very supportive and we've got almost 800 food items that we donated to our local homeless shelter :)

the problem:
We are trying to help "feed the poor" and alleviate poverty by holding a food drive, petitioning the congress, and spreading word about this issue. Our goal is to raise at least 500 food items by the end of December.

My club, Grimsley Global Citizen Corps, believes in rasing awareness and taking action in order to create a larger impact in our community and the world. Our main goal is to fight poverty and we've got a lot of students and faculty members involved since we are a big campus with many interested people who want to help with this cause.
the plan of action:
1. Spread awareness by posting flyers, making announcements, talking to people
2. Get club members to help - and also work with other clubs and the entire student body & faculty
3. Send a media press release
4. Start the events(food drive, petitioning congress, fundraiser, and hunger banquet)
5. Send results to Dosomething.org and calculate the impact! :D
