See It

Our wish is to establish a garden for the community where fresh foods would be available through the spring and summer for food bank recipants. A group of young people who call themselves the "Garden People" plan on starting their own seeds in their own greenhouse then transplanting to a piece of land for community use. Community people will be allowed to choose the type of food they want to pick from a lot of various food types: carrote, peas, onions, lettuce, green beans, peppers, tomatoes and corn, etc. Also with the help of Scott County Extention Agent workshops will be held to show people the canning process. Community will be invited to workshops on why their families need to eat healthy. Community wide fall harvest will end with fall season by having a pumpkin patch for all to use and have our headstart program visit the patch to get pumpkins.
