The Problem
FeelGood's mission is to create passionate, optimistic, and informed young leaders motivated to end world hunger in their lifetime. We embrace and advance the conviction that hungry people are not the problem but are the solution. We work within our campus community to educate students, faculty, and staff about issues surrounding world hunger and abject poverty. However, we are also partnering with our global community, to create a broader, more equal humanity.
Plan of Action
FeelGood as an organization was started at the University of Texas. At the University of Vermont we have worked to get a permanent location, solidify donors in our community, and create a larger member base. We currently have a listserv of over 1,200 people, a member base of approximately 50-75 people, and sell between 70 and 170 sandwiches each day we are open. We have raised over $100,000 for The Hunger Project. As far as our benefit concert, we currently have musicians that are willing to donate their time, a space reserved in our student center for free, and volunteers. We are not working largely on fundraising for the event. We need money for sound, t-shirt making, and advertising.
