The Problem

At Foothills Animal Rescue we are trying to solve the problem of Animal Homelessness and Animal Cruelty by providing our animals with a safe environment, shelter, fresh blankets, beds, water, food, exercise, and love through our cage free facility. Our mission at Foothills Animal Rescue is to be "committed to compassionate and humane treatment of dogs and cats in need through rescue, shelter, fostering and adoption within Maricopa County".

Plan of Action

Since I have started working and volunteering for F.A.R I have been able to accomplish multiple things. First I work five days a week from 7am to 11am in the morning and end up staying to volunteer a couple hours extra each week. In the morning I come in around 7am and take all of the dogs outside to go the bathroom and remove all bedding, blankets, food, and water from the rooms. I then clean all the rooms with disinfectant and mop the floors (animal safe solutions). I then provide them with clean bedding, toys, blankets, food, and water. After this is done I mop the entire shelter and then either move on to the clinic which is attached or perform special projects. I have organized the entire shelter and completely cleaned and sanitized it. At the moment I am in the middle of re-tagging and replacing all of the cat collars in our multiple cat rooms.
