The Problem

To improve the quality of life for children who have been diagnosed with a brain tumor and to provide love, support, and friendship. When you are diagnosed with a brain tumor, you feel isolated, you feel like you can't control what is happening--loss of hair, vomiting, nausea, etc. The loneliness is unimaginable and you just want things to be the way they were. Being a part of a team again is magical and it takes your mind off of what you are going through. Pairing children who have been diagnosed with a brain tumor with collegiate and high school sport teams allows the child to create special bonds with their team, to forget about their journey for just the moment and to feel all the love, support, and friendship from their big brothers and sisers.

Plan of Action

My plan of action is to make this global. To brand FOJ so that all children are given the same experience to improve their life as they battle their brain tumor so they never feel alone and they know that there are so many people who support them. When you feel love and support, it really makes you feel like you can do anything!
