The Problem

Considering the poor conditions in Chinandega, Nicaragua, we decided to go there to assist the people that are in need of our help. The hospitals and clinics already built are in terrible conditions, with unsafe equipment and unsanitary buildings that were too small for the amount of people it was holding. The children additionally, are unaware of the unsanitary and unhealthy conditions they are living in and are in need of some hygiene education. We strive to help solve these problems and educate as well as give the tool to the people of Nicaragua to help them help themselves when we are gone.

Plan of Action

In order to raise money and donations for the trip, we (my school's club) sold Sonic coupon cards, scrubs to our faculty members, had Nickles for Nicaragua donation jars in classrooms, set up boxes in classrooms for hygiene donations, went around the town to doctors, dentists, hospitals, clubs, and supermarkets for donations, and made many, many fliers! Once we acquired as many donations as we could, we took the time to sort everything out and make our hygiene packets and put them into suitcases for the trip. Once in Nicaragua, we went around to the variety of clinics, hospitals, and schools to hand out our donations.
