UPDATES: So far, we have raised over $1,000 for the food bank as part of our FROGs at the Plate baseball event.
We learned hunger does not discriminate: we saw elderly, teenagers, even little babies who received food at the mobile food pantry. There were people of all different races too. We are looking forward to helping distribute food late this summer in August.

The Problem
We are trying to fight hunger in our community. We play baseball to bring awareness and raise money for our local food bank.
Plan of Action
Our plan of action is to participate in the Texas Rangers Youth Baseball Tournament and play baseball to raise awareness and money for the Tarrant Area Food Bank. We designed brochures explaining our group and our mission to fighting hunger. The brochures explain the FROGs At The Plate baseball program which asks for sponsorships from local businesses. We go to businesses and ask them for their help with our fight against hunger. We also mail our brochures with personal letters to ask for their help. Along with playing baseball, we are reaching out the hungry by working at the TAFB's Mobile Food Pantry. Our group's motto is "Having Fun while helping Others" so we are having fun by playing baseball and helping others by raising money and also working the the mobile food pantry. Our goal this summer was to meet some of the people our group helps. We met around 500 people at the mobile food pantry while we distributed food to them. This was awesome to see them smile as they received food.
Overall, we raised $2,525 for the Tarrant Area Food Bank and tons of awareness of the hungry. Wow! That will feed a lot of hungry people!
