Funding Research for Juvenile Diabetes

Vital Stats

Money Raised: I have raised more than $2000 at each event

See It

I have a cousin named Ansley. Ansley has juvenile diabetes. She wears an insulin pump that pumps insulin directly into her body. She takes the pump out when she takes a shower or goes into the pool. She needs to prick her finger 10 times a day to check her blood sugar levels. I want to find a cure for diabetes so Ansley won't have to wear the pump or prick her finger. I try to raise money to find a cure. I have raised money at walk-a-thons, car washes and garage sales. I have asked my family and friends to help with donations of time, money and items for the garage sales. For the past four years we have had two car washes and garage sales every year. We ask the local VFW hall to let us use their parking lot for the garage sale and their water for the car wash. I've asked local car washes for donations of soap and supplies. We usually raise over $2000 at these events with the money going to Juvenile Diabetes Research. I want to continue to do these events until a cure for juvenile diabetes has been found. My hope is that someday no child will have to face juvenile diabetes the way my cousin has to fight it.
