The Problem
Before I started the Future Architects & Engineers of America, there was nowhere for students at my school to explore the option of a future in engineering or architecture. Our club gives them the opportunity to think about their future and ask questions. We also develop team, leadership and problem solving skills by working together.
Plan of Action
We work with all HS students to teach them about engineering and architecture. I bring in guest speakers, ranging from former NASA engineers to college students, who can talk about their experiences. I also sponsper group challenges where club members team up to work on projects and build their problem solvign skills. I offer any help I can to younger students with questions about engineering or architecture. ALso, I get them involved in competitions, we're members of the Technology Student Association and we also compete at the Panasonic Design Challenge and FIRST Tech Challenge.
The number of interested students continues to grow and we offer them resources to learn about technology, engineering, architecture, college and more.
