Garbage Free Lunch

the problem:

The Spring Garden School held it's first Garbage Free Lunch Day. Students were encouraged by the Do Something Club to bring lunchboxes, plastic containers, thermoses, and reusable water bottles. We challenged the students to have absolutely no garbage. We were successful. Over one hundred students participated. We are happy to report that we cut the amount of garbage in half. The custodian only had three bags of garbage that day. On an average, he has six bags! Not bad for our first attempt!
