The Problem

Kids in my community have went down the wrong path too many times. They've been exposed to drugs, drinking, smoking, and violence at the young age of 10! Most of them don't have parents they can talk to, or even want to talk to. I want to stop this madness. I want to get these kids on the right path and show them what they can do with their lives, and the differences they can make in their communities.

Plan of Action

I've made a Youth Group in my community's elementary school for grades 6 through 8. We focus on four basic elements of the program, mimicking life: Leadership, Teamwork, Friendship, and Sense of Self. This program is run by High School students at my high sachool who (1) meet together once a week to decide what they'll be teaching the kids that week, and (2) meet with the kids each week and focus on those 4 basic elements through group games, activities, and discussions. We also get the kids involved in the community and help out around town as much as possible, through the community library, the arena, the old age home, and especially at the school. We're organizing fundraisers to put money back into the community to better the lives of those growing up in this town.
