I am a member of Girl Scout Troop 486. We recently earned a geocaching badge, and want to share this new sport with other girls in our Council. We have voted to place geocaches at the Council camps. We placed 10 geocaches and letterboxes at Camp Pennyroyal last month. We will place them at other camps as we visit them. We voted to donate a GPS unit to Camp Pennyroyal with our Cookie Sale profits. Now we need a way to provide units for the other camps. We would like to give two units for each Service Center in our Council so girls can check them out and use them when visiting the Council camps or other geocaches. We like geocaching because it's fun. It has taught us more about geography. We have learned how to use a GPS for geocaching and how to use a compass for the letterboxes. We are making up a packet for troops to use to learn about geocaching and letterboxing. We will leave the packets at the camps for troops to use.
