The Problem

We are helping the Walk & Roll campaign. It is designed to encourage students to walk, ride their bikes, or carpool to school to help the environment and stop air pollution. Kent Epperson, from Traffic Solutions is currently working with the Dons Net Café one on one to help find ways to promote this campaign around Santa Barbara High School and the community. This campaign is also supported by Community Environmental Council and Bicycle Connection! We have made posters, a video, and are spreading the news by word of mouth around campus. We recently purchased helmets for 12 members of our group and are working on bikes and bike racks for our school (which are really non existent).

Plan of Action

1. Get bikes and helmets for a group of students. 2. Encourage all students to ride by setting the example made by this group of 12. 3. Come up with creative campaigns to encourage bike riding, walking, and commuting instead of wasting so much gas. 4. Participate in Santa Barbara Earth Day, sing our song on stage "We Ride Differently", volunteer for two days at event (bike valet, set up take down and recycling), have a booth and teach people about recycling and bike riding.
